This bath house is part of an off-grid summer colony called Braasi Woods located in the Vysočina Highlands in central Czech Republic. The nearest village is about 2 km away.
The camp includes yurts, a metal hangar for tractors and tools, and other features like a photovoltaic energy source, a well, and a proper fireplace to gather around.
The building is made from 12x12 cm (~5x5”) timber, forming two triangles and a frame around the door for added stability. The roof is self-supporting, constructed from 6 cm (~2.5”) thick wooden boards with a waterproof membrane. The fiberglass translucent façade is suspended from the ceiling, giving it a unique look.
The shower operates on a nearby solar boiler, or else there’s a backup wood-fired boiler. The shower pan is zinc cattle tank (aka stock tank).
The group of colleagues and friends who reside in the camp also designed and built all of the buildings themselves, the same group behind the Braasi-branded backpack company.
Everything they touch is a beaut.
